Explain your American High School and College experiences to a Brit?

I went to a public school that was more like a private school. It was the first million dollar school built in history and had the architect of a Castle. There were tunnels underground as well. Everyone drove expensive cars. A new Grand AM was considered cheap. There were cliques, and sometimes girls could be mean. We would do a bit more than just have "cat fights". Egging houses/cars and slashing tires were involved as well. Being a Cheerleader I never had to go to cl. Everything was corrupt. We would drink with some of the teachers and skip cl to smoke weed. I never cheered a single game I wasn't buzzed for. Party's were held every weekend at Hotels like the Hyatt and Westin. Everyone had an attitude problem in someway or another, but we knew to steer clear from the law. Some of the guys I went to school weren't so lucky. Getting in trouble for driving on suspended licenses and such. After I graduated in 2005 new administrative was put into effect.
