Are police just going to deport this dui hit and run driver or does he face charges?

i think the "ordered detained pending deportation" says it all. he gets deported and is back by weeks end. i thought leaving the scene of an accident was a felony but, this guy is going to get a free ride home. that's just wrong. they should put him on a work crew til he's paid for all the damage then ship him out. i mean, at least.
