Skipping school for a good reason?

Here is the story...I got a book that was about 600 pages long during the worst time...MIdterm exams...I am in High School. So now that midterms are over and i pretty much screwed with tis book. I cannot possible finish this book, do a project, a 4 pg paper due in 2 days. The test is in 2 days so would u skipp school if u were in my situation?
