Can I cook with a slow cooker in my dorm room and not get caught?

I have a crock pot/ slow cooker in my room but I'm afraid whatever I cook in it will smell and people will find it. It has a gl lid and people smoke in their rooms and no one can smell it THAT badly. Do you think if I leave something like chicken cooking in the the hall will smell up? I don't wanna get caught but I need to be able to cook my own food without a kitchen. The door is pretty thick to my room and I can stuff something underneath the crack but I just need a second opinion, Thanks!
